Held at Nike Las Vegas on October 29th, 2011, the event marked another new model for Penny Hardaway’s signature franchise, the Zoom Rookie, built alongside the Nike Sportswear category. Gentry Humphrey and Marc Dolce took the stage to walk through the legacy of the Penny line, the Foamposites and the Pennys that a whole generation grew up chasing.
Then Penny himself sat down in an unusually intimate setting, just him and his most dedicated fans, the kind of room where the questions get personal and the stories go long. If you came up on the Penny line, you know exactly what it would have meant to be in that room.
It was a reminder that the signature shoes were always really about the connection between a player and the people who rode for him.
