He brought that same collector’s eye to the work, the writing and the editing, the deep knowledge of why an old pair mattered. The best sneaker writers are usually the ones who would be doing it anyway, for free, on a forum at 2am, and Zac was always that. He carried it forward into a long career covering footwear.
